The Education and Youth Affairs Bureau's Youth Art Gallery will host the "Joyful Oil Painting: Seven Artists Joint Exhibition" from July 12 to 24, 2016.
The exhibition showcases oil paintings by seven young artists who have studied painting together for many years: Choi U Hang, Ho Choi Tim, Leong Hao Ian, Chan Hou Iao, Mak King Chi, Lai Chon Iat, and Ngai Hoi Man. Their works cover a wide range of themes, including:
The artists view painting as a magical process of layering dots, lines, planes, and colors on a blank canvas, akin to a wizard's potion. Through their exhibited works, they hope to share their boundless imagination with the audience and encourage more young people to engage in artistic creation, experiencing the joy and fulfillment it brings.
A notable aspect of this exhibition series is that participants, with the assistance, guidance, and encouragement of gallery staff, are involved in all aspects of exhibition preparation. This includes planning, promotional material design, and installation. This hands-on approach fully embodies the Youth Art Gallery's mission: to provide a space for young people to exhibit their talents, share their creativity, and foster creative thinking and self-confidence.
