The "Human Traces" photography exhibition is a project curated by Halftone – Macau Photography Association, an association established in the Macau Special Administrative Region in 2021.
This exhibition brings together the visual works of fourteen association members currently residing in Macau or Portugal, including: Carmen Serejo, Cristiana Figueiredo, Elói Scarva, Francisco Ricarte, 周啟亨, Inela Kovacevic, João Palla, João Rato, João Van-Zelst, Jorge Veiga Alves, José Neves, 麥健智 (José Sales Marques), 景文龍 (Miguel Quental), and Sara Augusto.
The artists present their respective interpretations of the theme, collectively creating a rich and visually diverse series of works.
Within a society full of multicultural expression and representation, the fourteen photographers explore their understanding of "Human Traces." Their focus spans the uniqueness of the human body and how individuals belong to communities, environments, or urban landscapes. The exhibition embraces this diversity through a broad visual and aesthetic spectrum, encompassing traditional, contemporary, and conceptual photography, including both black-and-white and color works. It invites the audience to contemplate the importance of "human traces" in shaping social and cultural identity. Through a rich variety of photographic series and individual pieces, it encourages viewers to cherish the diverse forms of expression that contribute to our community and cultural heritage.
