The Macao Museum of Art (MAM) presents the "Hong Kong & Macao Illustrations" exchange exhibition, featuring 76 works by ten representative illustrators with distinctive styles—five from Hong Kong and five from Macao. The exhibition focuses on narrative illustration works that are not dependent on pre-existing story texts, showcasing strong independence, rich imagination, and originality.
Illustration is deeply intertwined with our daily lives. Beyond the sketches that complement texts in books, many people doodle in their notebooks during classes or meetings—a primitive form of illustration. This exhibition aims to facilitate artistic exchange in illustration between Hong Kong and Macao while promoting the advancement of local illustration.
The ten participating illustrators come from diverse career, educational, and cultural backgrounds, resulting in a highly diversified range of artistic styles. The works on display are primarily independent narratives on various themes, each brimming with individuality, connotation, and wit. Visitors are sure to discover pieces that resonate with them.
This multifaceted exchange fosters not only dialogue among creators but also a spiritual connection between the illustrators and the audience. Through these varied artworks, creators express their ideas and imagination, while viewers enrich their spiritual and cultural lives.
