Overview

Celebrate two decades of Hio Kok Experimental Lab, a space that has been silently serving Macau's theatre scene since 1999. In the midst of their busy rehearsal and performance schedule, they realized their 20th birthday is coming up! They invite everyone to join a series of anniversary parties.

Lighting & Photo Exhibition – The You Who Accompanied Us

• Dates: December 12–15 (Thursday to Sunday)
• Description: A lighting exhibition showcasing the beauty of this space that has served Macau theatre for 20 years, expressing gratitude for the space and all the people and plays over the past two decades.
• Opening Hours:
  • Dec 12: 19:30–22:30
  • Dec 13: 19:30–22:30
  • Dec 14: 14:00–22:30
  • Dec 15: 14:00–19:00

Featured Play Revival: "Entering the City"

• Date & Time: December 13 (Friday), 21:00
• Description: A revival of "Entering the City," the very first play produced by Hio Kok Drama Laboratory in 1999. (Registration required, currently full).

Concert & Script Reading

• Date: December 14 (Saturday)
• Program:
  • 14:00–15:00: "Café at 22°N" Concert (Registration required). A reprise of many beautiful musical pieces.
  • 21:00: "Same Time, Next Year" Script Reading (Registration required). A story of a one-night encounter and a promise to meet every year for 25 years. This was the first work in Hio Kok's Longrun Theatre Series, which debuted at the Lab in 2014 and was restaged in February 2020.
