Heritage Stroll has been co-organized by the Cultural Heritage Ambassadors Association and Yingzi Dance Garden since 2012, and is now in its 5th edition! This year, it has evolved into a (micro) old town roaming arts festival. We hope to continue exploring art with all five senses and appreciating the beauty of life in the heritage city together.
The activities will run from now until early next year, involving collective creation with local residents, artists, cultural heritage ambassadors, and volunteers. The program offers richer pre-performance art activities, workshops, and city tours, while also building momentum for the two-week exhibition and performances scheduled for March 2022.
This edition of Heritage Stroll takes "The Invisible Coastline" as its theme, inviting everyone to discover, review, and envision our relationship with the sea.
Light painting is a fascinating photographic technique that can infuse images with unique style and intriguing interplay between reality and illusion. This technique originated in 1889 and has since developed numerous possibilities.
As light painting involves a delicate dialogue with time, space, and trajectory, capturing a satisfactory photo often requires an entire night of careful observation and repeated experimentation. Simultaneously, the process of light painting creates a unique landscape within the World Heritage space. This is a highly engaging activity to learn about light painting art and attempt to depict that "invisible coastline."
*Selected works may have the opportunity to be publicly exhibited during the Heritage Stroll fortnight in the following year.
