Overview

The Guia Hill Pedestrian Tunnel and Walking System, also known as the 'Guia Hill Pedestrian Tunnel', runs north-south beneath Guia Hill for approximately 400 meters. It connects the ZAPE (New Urban Area) and Avenida de Horta e Costa (Horta e Costa Avenue), greatly facilitating pedestrian travel between the districts. The tunnel features an automatic walkway and an elevator providing access to the Guia Hill Fitness Trail. Visitors can also ascend to the summit of Guia Hill, the highest point on the Macao Peninsula, for a panoramic view. The area is home to significant UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Guia Fortress, Guia Chapel, and the Guia Lighthouse—the first modern lighthouse on the Chinese coast—offering a rich experience of Macao's East-meets-West historical and cultural value.
