"Grace Kelly: From Hollywood to Monaco – Artists' Tributes" is a special exhibition that chronicles the legendary story of Oscar-winning actress Grace Kelly (1929–1982), from her rise to stardom in Hollywood to her retirement from acting to become the Princess of Monaco. The exhibition is part of the five-month "Art Macao" International Art Exhibition series.
Grace Kelly was a major 20th-century fashion icon whose acting talent and personal style created an enduring legacy of charm. To this day, people remain fascinated by her and emulate her lifestyle. In the 1950s, as she ascended to the ranks of Hollywood's biggest stars, she announced her marriage to Prince Rainier III of Monaco, becoming part of the ancient Grimaldi dynasty, which has ruled Monaco for nearly a thousand years.
Grace Kelly's elegance has inspired countless artistic creations. This exhibition pays tribute to her through a collection of works spanning photography, film, and visual arts, notably including portrait prints by Pop Art master Andy Warhol. The exhibition also showcases precious artworks created by Grace Kelly herself, who was a passionate art lover.
The exhibition is housed in a specially constructed temporary pavilion designed to display treasures on loan from the Palace of Monaco. The exhibition design, supervised by Thomas Fouilleron, Director of the Archives and Library of the Palace of Monaco and curator of the exhibition, weaves together history, cultural heritage, fashion, and artworks to offer visitors a rich and fascinating journey of discovery.
