Life is like a long cycle of reincarnation, with each twelve-year period representing a generation, much like the succession of the twelve Chinese zodiac signs. Through five cycles and sixty years of song-like time, I am grateful for all of you, each as unique as the twelve spiritual animals, who have warmed the long river of my life in different ways.
Looking back now, on the canvas of these sixty years, it is you who have painted my rich life with twelve colors—always the best gift time has given me.
Wen Xuexian is an artist with a deep passion for painting. After graduation, she entered the workforce but never put down her brush. For nearly eight years, she has studied oil painting under the guidance of teacher Li Yingwei, creating a diverse body of work that includes portraits, animals, landscapes, and illustrations.
Now, having retired from public service, she has decided to return to her creative roots with a new series. The upcoming "Twelve Zodiac Animals" themed exhibition is her artistic tribute to the companions in her life. Through illustration-style oil paintings, she blends animals with human figures, with each zodiac sign becoming a metaphor for a stage of life: the rat's cleverness, the ox's perseverance, the tiger's courage, and so on. The faces encountered during her social work career will be poetically reborn through paint.
Art enthusiasts and the public are cordially invited to visit.
