Fish: Hundred Forms is a solo exhibition by Macau artist Rico Lou (Lou Hong Yip), featuring approximately 10 oil paintings on canvas. The exhibition explores the beauty of fish beyond their role as food, presenting them as natural artworks shaped by the challenges of the sea.
The artist chooses to depict fish in their pre-culinary state, infused with vibrant colors. The aim is to shift our perception, encouraging viewers to appreciate the inherent beauty of fish and listen to the unique story of color told by their scales.
Rico Lou (Lou Hong Yip) was born in Macau in 1983. He graduated from National Chengchi University in Taiwan in 2006, majoring in Risk Management and Insurance. Since 2008, he has studied oil painting under the guidance of Macau artist Lee Ying Wai.
The Macau Wu Jun Fu Yueju Opera Role Association is dedicated to promoting the art and techniques of the Wu Jun Fu role in Cantonese opera. It organizes lectures, activities, and competitions to preserve and pass on traditional Chinese culture and skills.
