A lecture exploring the architectural design of the Sam Kai Vui Kun (Na Tcha Temple) Exhibition Hall and its role in community revitalization.
Located next to the Sam Kai Vui Kun (Na Tcha Temple), the Sam Kai Vui Kun Exhibition Hall has a floor area of less than 100 square meters. However, its design thoughtfully considers the representation of community history and environmental transformation.
This lecture will introduce the design concept behind the Sam Kai Vui Kun Exhibition Hall, share preliminary research on the history of Patane (Casa do Patane), and discuss how architectural design can inject new vitality into old communities.
Architect Loi Chit Keong studied in Portugal and France and holds a French Heritage Architect qualification. His notable designs include the Sacred Art Museum of St. Joseph's Seminary, the Sam Kai Vui Kun (Na Tcha Temple) Exhibition Hall, the Zheng Guanying Former Residence Memorial Museum, and the Lu Ban Master Woodcraft Exhibition Hall.
This event is part of the "Stories Behind the Door" (門裏故事) lecture series, which aims to share untold stories of Macau through monthly gatherings.
