Presented by the Macau Sculpture Society, the "Dream Mnemotechnics" — Tong Anya Solo Exhibition will be held from January 10 to February 28, 2024. The exhibition showcases the artist's experimental composite media installations that combine photography and sculpture, exploring the connections between time, memory, and the unconscious.
This installation presents one of the artist's dreams, serving as a channel to explore the links between time, memory, and the unconscious. Dreams transcend time and space, connecting consciousness to the deepest parts of the soul. The seemingly bizarre and absurd objects and scenes in dreams are like symbols formed by various memories, traumas, fears, desires, and obsessions, appearing in the world created during our sleep. However, upon waking, we can often only recall fragmented pieces and the lingering emotions of the dream—imprints dissolved in the past yet permeating the present.
