As the city develops, amidst this place that converges Eastern and Western cultural characteristics, one can still find various small shops hidden in the city's corners, diligently operating and creating the unique flavor that belongs to this small city itself. From childhood to entering the workforce, there are occasional urges to visit those small shops. Perhaps it's due to the habits of childhood tastes, or because of recommendations from influencers for a check-in, or for a quick, simple meal when time is short, or a spontaneous desire for nostalgia, or perhaps the hope of recalling people once visited with. Maybe the city no longer has its old-fashioned charm, but regardless of whether there's still a sense of human warmth, there's still an occasional desire to savor the "city flavor" that belongs to this small town.
Vanda Chan is a Macau-based freelance designer, illustrator, and painter. Her creative inspiration often comes from people, animals, and interesting moments in daily life, with the hope of discovering new ideas from the ordinary.
