The 'Chinese Documents', also known as the 'Qing Dynasty Macau Local Yamen Archives', record the correspondence between the Qing government and the Portuguese Senate of Macau from 1693 to 1886. Following their inscription into UNESCO's 'Memory of the World Register' in October last year, this exhibition showcases over 100 archival documents from the Portuguese National Archive of Torre do Tombo. These records detail the social conditions, urban development, and commercial exchanges in Macau during the Qing Dynasty. This exhibition is one of the highlights of the 'Meet in Macao – China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Cultural and Art Festival' organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau.
