Overview

A workshop series organized by the Macau Catholic Happy Family Association – Marriage and Family Counselling Centre, focusing on intergenerational relationships within families, particularly for seniors and their adult children. The program uses the metaphor of a cactus surviving in the desert to explore themes of self-reliance, legal preparation for later life, and improving family bonds.

Workshop Details

• Dates: February 23–24, 2019 (Saturday & Sunday)
• Format: Interactive workshops combining legal knowledge, art therapy, storytelling, and theatrical elements.
• Themes:
  • Understanding self-reliance and family protection (like a cactus in the desert).
  • Legal preparations for seniors (e.g., understanding wills).
  • Helping adult children adjust their mindset and support their parents' adaptation to later life.

Awards Ceremony & Project

• Awards Ceremony Date: March 23, 2019 (Saturday)
• Project Requirement: Participants must complete both workshops to be eligible.
• Task: Create a personal work (photo or video) exploring feelings and concepts from the workshops.
• Prizes:
  • Champion: MOP 1,000
  • 1st Runner-up: MOP 800
  • 2nd Runner-up: MOP 500

The goal is to promote life education, help individuals discover their personal strengths, and build social connections as an alternative to declining physical health in later years.
