Tibetan Buddhism boasts a long history and has played a significant role in Chinese history since the 17th century. The Tashilhunpo Monastery is the traditional seat of the Panchen Lamas and one of the four great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. During the Qing Dynasty, successive Panchen Lamas established close political ties with the central government, with frequent tributary exchanges. This exhibition showcases 137 precious artifacts from the collections of the Palace Museum and the Tashilhunpo Monastery.
