The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the National Museum of China jointly present "Auspicious Bronze Splendor: A Fine Collection of Bronze Ware from the National Museum of China." This exhibition showcases over 150 exquisite bronze artifacts from the treasured collection of the National Museum of China.
In the history of human civilization, bronze ware has played an extremely important role. In ancient China, bronze ware, known as 'jin' or 'auspicious jin,' emerged alongside early civilizations. It stands as the most important representative material evidence revealing the origin, development, and prosperity of Chinese civilization. Ancient bronze ware is also one of China's most significant historical and cultural heritages. With its diverse types, unique shapes, magnificent decorations, rich inscriptions, and complex casting techniques, it has created unparalleled glorious achievements and holds a unique position in the history of world art.
This exhibition is divided into five thematic units, structured around the sculptural art, decorative patterns, calligraphic inscriptions, craftsmanship techniques, and patina manifestations of bronze ware. The collection features a long chronological span, rich categories, and diverse vessel forms. The exhibition systematically traces the developmental journey of bronze—this representative material evidence of Chinese civilization. Through each profound, dignified, and enduring national treasure, it allows the audience to more comprehensively perceive the rich connotations and important characteristics of Chinese culture.
