"Art Power Jamming - Friendship Chapter" is an art exhibition series organized by the Ark - Association of Macau Art, bringing together local art enthusiasts. The series features seven highly individualistic exhibitions presented in succession. The first exhibition, titled "Self," showcases the works of artist Yaya Vai.
The event aims to "realize oneself through artistic power and continue the gathering of friends." Engaging in artistic work not only tempers one's will but also brings people closer together through the power of art. Different forms of art are like different languages; this series brings together seven Macau artists in a relay format, each using their own proficient "language" to tell their artistic story.
Through this exhibition, artists can exchange creative insights and experiences. It also offers local residents and visitors the opportunity to appreciate the unique works of the exhibitors, all of which share a common direction: expressing the vitality of art.
The journey begins with an eternally thought-provoking question: 'Who am I?' From a family perspective, one might be a daughter, sister, wife, or daughter-in-law. From a societal perspective, one might be an administrator or a teacher.
Life presents us with many roles. But looking inward at the 'self,' what am I really like? This creative process is about exploring one's inner feelings, struggles, preferences, thoughts, and dreams to discover the true self.
Is a woman a flower or a vase? Regardless, she is ultimately 'herself.' It's about cherishing oneself and pursuing one's dreams!
Born in Macau, Yaya Vai studied Business Administration in university and holds a master's degree. Since 2000, she has been learning sketching and oil painting in her spare time. In recent years, she has participated in numerous art exchanges and educational activities, realizing that one can become an artist at any age.
The Ark - Association of Macau Art is dedicated to promoting art and culture. It aims to provide Macau residents with a space to learn artistic knowledge, unleash creativity, and enjoy the pleasure of creation through various art activities such as exhibitions, lectures, and workshops. This not only enhances public appreciation for 'art' but also improves quality of life. Furthermore, it offers a channel to release the pressures and tedium of work and daily life through art.
