"Art Power Jamming - Friendship Chapter" is an art exhibition series that brings together local art enthusiasts. Organized by the Ark - Association of Macau Art, it features seven highly personal exhibitions presented in succession. This event aims to "realize oneself through artistic power and continue the gathering of friends." Artwork not only tempers one's will but also bridges distances between people. Different forms of art are like different languages; this series gathers seven Macau artists who each use their own proficient "language" to tell their artistic stories.
Through this exhibition, artists can exchange creative insights and experiences, while local residents and visitors can appreciate the unique works of the exhibitors. All works share a common direction: expressing the vitality of art.
Cheong Ut Man shares her journey into art, recalling how drawing was always a source of joy. From making Christmas cards as a child to finding her own style in portrait illustration after a period of exploration, she describes the creative process for "Girls" as pure and straightforward—like playing with Barbie dolls, styling hair, and choosing outfits. Her works are her "Barbies." Beyond the "Girls" series, she also enjoys creating portraits of friends and family.
Cheong Ut Man was born in Macau, China. An art enthusiast, she graduated from the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies in Tourism Business Management and later participated in the Cultural Representative Program at Walt Disney World in the USA. Having lived in Taiwan during her childhood, she was surrounded by family antiques, jade, and wood carvings, which embedded Eastern totems deeply in her visual memory.
The Ark - Association of Macau Art (AAMA) aims to promote art and culture. Through various activities such as exhibitions, talks, and workshops, it provides Macau residents with a space to learn about art, unleash creativity, and enjoy the fun of creation. This not only enhances public appreciation of art and quality of life but also offers a channel to release stress from work and daily life.
