AP37 "Legacy City · Coexhibition" features recent digital prints and photography works by two Macau-born art enthusiasts, Ma Sin U and U Weng Io. The exhibition presents an intersection of two distinct artistic styles, offering audiences an alternative sensory experience.
The two artists use different creative media to reflect on life and art. Time passes, and since Macau's return to China, society has been in constant flux. The transformation from a small fishing village into a modern, internationally renowned city has given the artists much to contemplate. Familiar things from the past, unable to withstand the wash of time, are constantly changing and disappearing around us. How much remains now?
Concepts like "Equivalent Life" and "Calculated Life" express the artists' feelings about modern people's incessant calculation, quantification, and comparison. "Change" is an indisputable fact that cannot be reversed; one can only strive to adapt to meet the demands of a complex society. The artists hope to share their feelings about Macau's transformation with the public through this exhibition.
