AP16 'Self-Oil Happy Viewing' is the first solo exhibition by Macau art enthusiast Lei Weijian. The exhibition showcases Lei Weijian's recent printmaking and other works created at the Macau Polytechnic Institute.
The exhibition's title 'Self-Oil' is a homophone for 'Freedom' in Chinese, expressing the artist's pursuit and perspective on liberty. Several pieces are interactive, inviting the audience to co-create, thereby sharing the joy of 'self-oil' and facilitating a dialogue between the viewer and the artist.
Lei Weijian is a student in the Visual Arts (Art Education) program at the Macau Polytechnic Institute's School of Arts, specializing in printmaking. He is a member of the Macau International Printmaking Art Research Centre and has participated in numerous local and international print exhibitions. Through his works, he aims to invite the audience into his inner world.
This exhibition is part of the Ox Warehouse Creative Garden's Artist-in-Residence program. All are welcome to visit.
