AFAMacau 8th Anniversary – Members' New Works Exhibition
In 2015, Macau's AFAMacau (Art For All Society) entered its eighth year. From the perspective of numerology, the number '8' represents materiality, strength, and development. Within the universal law of cause and effect, the lesson of '8' is 'you reap what you sow.'
From its founding to the present day, AFAMacau has journeyed from a vibrant pioneering phase through a period of discovery and expansion, learning the importance of perseverance. It has experienced the fatigue that follows a peak, and last year, the society held its triennial election. The artists of AFAMacau passed the test of the collective, learning from past experience and wisdom. Today, we gather to start anew.
Art is both a personal and a collective endeavor. An artist's personal pursuit of artistic expression is projected into their work, reflecting humanity and the facets of society through their pieces, evoking a sense of identification from the audience. Art is the flower of cultural development, and exhibitions are its fruit. This 'AFAMacau 8th Anniversary – Members' New Works Exhibition' invited eighteen local artists to showcase their latest personal works.

- Newest member Sou Man Lok, recent winner of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours award, presents the work After Prayer
These eighteen of Macau's most active contemporary artists fully embody their creative states through their works. They strive tirelessly on their paths to personal artistic achievement while contributing to the development of Macau's artistic and cultural environment. On the occasion of AFAMacau's 8th-anniversary exhibition, each work shines brightly, illuminating the splendid future we create together.
