About the Salon

Celebrating its 8th anniversary, the annual AFAMAC Autumn Salon is a collaborative project between the Art For All Society (AFAMAC) and the Orient Foundation. The event serves as a vital platform for Macau's contemporary art scene.

Key Features

• Open Call & Exhibition: An open call gathers works from local artists, with high-quality, recent creations selected for exhibition at the unique landmark venue of the Orient Foundation Headquarters.
• Orient Foundation Art Award: This award accepts submissions from local artists aged 18 to 35, encouraging and affirming young artistic talent. The winner receives an opportunity to hold a solo exhibition in Portugal.
• Artistic Showcase: The 2017 edition featured 58 works by 30 participating artists, spanning diverse media including paintings, photography, sculpture, video, and electronic installations.

Curatorial Vision

The salon upholds a standard of selection focused on contemporary art, considering the artist's background, experience, concept, and the quality of the finished work. It reflects the burgeoning creativity and constant pursuit of expressive power among Macau's artists.
