Competition Theme: Discovery

Everyone's experiences and life insights are different. What has left a deep impression on you in life? A distant journey? Or a simple gift? Through observation and discovery, make ordinary elements appear extraordinary.

Categories & Eligibility

• Student Category: Participants aged 14-18 (as of January 1, 2015) who hold a Macao Resident Identity Card and are currently enrolled in day or night school.
• Open Category: Participants aged 19 or above (as of January 1, 2015) who hold a Macao Resident Identity Card.

Submission Requirements

• Entries must be original, unpublished fashion illustrations and must not involve intellectual property or other legal disputes.
• Medium is unrestricted (gouache, markers, paper-cutting, crayons, watercolor, Photoshop, etc.). If created digitally, please include the computer file (JPEG or AI) with the submission.
• Entry size must be A3 paper (297 mm x 420 mm).
• Entries must be mounted on black cardstock measuring 380 mm x 520 mm.
• Designers must consider the wearability and practicality of the clothing.

Awards

Student Category

• Champion (1): MOP$1,500 cash prize, certificate, and trophy.
• 1st Runner-up (1): MOP$1,200 cash prize, certificate, and trophy.
• 2nd Runner-up (1): MOP$1,000 cash prize, certificate, and trophy.
• Merit Awards (6): Certificate and trophy. Note: Winners under 18 must have a guardian collect the cash prize.

Open Category

• Champion (1): MOP$3,000 cash prize, certificate, and trophy.
• 1st Runner-up (1): MOP$2,500 cash prize, certificate, and trophy.
• 2nd Runner-up (1): MOP$2,000 cash prize, certificate, and trophy.
• Merit Awards (6): Certificate and trophy.

Important Notes for Participants

• Participants must hold a Macao Resident Identity Card.
• Participants can first register online at https://events.cpttm.org.mo to fill in personal details and the entry theme.
• Entries and registration forms must be submitted or mailed by May 18, 2015 to: 'Macao Productivity and Technology Transfer Center – Garment Technology Exchange Point', 10th Floor, Ocean Industrial Centre Phase 2, Rua dos Pescadores, Macao.
• There is no limit to the number of submissions per participant, but each entry is limited to one person. Each participant can win a maximum of two awards, and the Champion, 1st Runner-up, and 2nd Runner-up winners cannot be repeated.
• Submitted works must be flat. Entries that do not meet size or mounting requirements will not be judged.
• The back of each entry must state: work title, name, gender, workplace/school, contact phone number, and email.
• Winning entries become the property of the organizer. The organizer reserves the right to promote, publish, display all entries, and produce souvenirs.
• Entries will not be returned.
• Participants wishing to apply for a commemorative certificate should indicate so on the registration form.
• The first 50 participants will receive a souvenir.

Judging

Judging Panel: Local fashion designers, painting experts, and art professionals.

• Aesthetics & Painting Technique: 20%
• Color Technique: 15%
• Relevance to Theme: 15%
• Creativity: 15%
• Practicality: 35%

Competition Schedule

• March – May 18, 2015: Registration and submission period.
• May 21, 2015 (Tentative): Judging.
• May 22–27, 2015: Announcement of results within 5 working days after judging.
• June 5–26, 2015: Awards ceremony and exhibition (date and venue to be confirmed).
