Event Background
To foster academic exchange and research among higher design education institutions across the Greater China region, creating closer academic ties and collaboration opportunities, and jointly promoting the healthy development and innovative concepts of higher design education, the Macao Polytechnic Institute – School of Arts will host the 2nd "Cross-Strait Design Education Summit Forum." This forum is jointly organized with the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and co-organized by the China Academy of Art, College of Arts of National Taiwan Normal University, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Experts and scholars from relevant higher design institutions across the region will be invited to participate. The event aims to explore the teaching theories and practices of culture and creativity in different regions through this forum and educational exhibition, sparking more creative inspiration in design education, and jointly constructing competitive and forward-looking methods and systems for higher design education.
Event Objectives
- With culture, infinity, and creativity at its core, explore the content, theory, and practice of globalized and localized design education in higher institutions. Encourage teachers from relevant design disciplines in higher institutions to share their experiences and insights in teaching and research related to culture and creativity, promoting professional growth and enhancing the quality of university teaching.
- Through observation and exchange at the Higher Design Education Exhibition, understand the characteristics of higher education curricula across the region and discuss the trends and future directions of higher design education.
- Through the Higher Design Education Summit Forum, understand how higher design education across the region supports the development of culture, infinity, and creativity, and jointly explore the support systems and various future development possibilities for higher design education and the cultural and creative industries.
