This annual contest, a beloved tradition since 1989, transforms Macau's skyline into a canvas of light and sound. It celebrates the territory's rich history in the fireworks industry, which was once one of its three staple industries, influenced by Portugal's long pyrotechnic heritage.
Ten top international teams will compete across the five nights:
Special themed nights include performances from France and Austria on September 27 (Mid-Autumn Festival & World Tourism Day), and from Australia and Mainland China on October 1 (China's National Day).
Recognized as one of the world's best fireworks contests, this event has featured over 100 teams from across the globe throughout its history. It has become an annual must-see attraction, drawing visitors seeking a romantic and exotic holiday experience.
During the contest period, the Macau Government Tourist Office also hosts a popular photo contest and student drawing contest, adding further creative energy to the festivities.
