Overview

The 2019 Macao Calligraphy and Painting Joint Exhibition, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is a long-standing and significant platform for showcasing and exchanging local calligraphy and painting art. It aims to promote the innovation and heritage development of these traditional art forms in Macao.

• Opening Hours: 10:00 – 20:00 daily
• Closed on: Mondays (Open on public holidays)
• Admission: Free

About the Exhibition

The 2019 edition began its call for submissions in May, receiving a total of 295 pieces (sets) of works from 156 participants. A panel of expert judges from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao rigorously selected 80 award-winning and shortlisted works based on professional standards.

The exhibition features a diverse range of themes and forms, showcasing the unique characteristics of each piece. It highlights local creators' dedication to achieving the beauty of traditional Chinese art while exploring innovative approaches, presenting the distinctive features and contemporary landscape of Chinese calligraphy, painting, and seal carving in Macao.
