The 2018 Macao Light Festival – Time Travel Macao will be held from December 2 to 31, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM nightly. Centered around the theme of time, the festival integrates elements of Macao's cuisine, culture, architecture, and creative industries to showcase the essence of Macao's East-meets-West cultural fusion. It aims to depict the growth and memories of Macao's people, leading audiences on a journey of "Time Travel Macao."
This year's festival further enhances its culinary elements in both content and routes to align with "2018 Macao Food Year." The event will feature five light projection shows across three different locations, plus a mobile projection installation at Taipa Market. Notably, the Ruins of St. Paul's light projection show involves creative teams from Portugal, Belgium, and Macao.
Beyond showcasing Macao's food culture through light projections, interactive games, and light installations, the festival will debut light-themed food trucks and a food night market, highlighting Macao's "Creative City of Gastronomy" through cross-disciplinary creativity.
