Overview
To promote the development of police culture and establish a positive image of the police force, the Macao Security Forces and Services Higher School, in collaboration with Macao's security forces and departments, is organizing the "Police-Community Cooperation" Chinese Essay and Photography Competition. Through this competition, the public and police personnel are invited to participate together, working hand in hand to build a positive and community-friendly police culture for Macao, while providing an opportunity for academic and artistic exchange.
The theme is "Police-Community Cooperation." Participants must create their own titles to express the importance of police-community cooperation and the positive, proactive image of the police force.
Note: "Police-Community Cooperation" broadly refers to the cooperative and interactive relationship between personnel from departments such as the Judiciary Police, Public Security Police, Fire Services Bureau, Customs, and Macao Prison and the general public.
Competition Details
Photography Competition
Organizer: Macao Security Forces and Services Higher School
Purpose: To promote police culture, establish a positive police image, and provide a platform for exchange in the field of photographic art.
Categories:
- Open Category: Open to all Macao residents.
- Internal Category: Open to current or retired personnel working in departments under the Secretariat for Security of Macao.
Requirements:
- Theme: "Police-Community Cooperation."
- Participants must create their own titles.
Submission Specifications:
- Color or black-and-white photographs.
- Size: 8 × 10 inches or 8R.
- Must be mounted on 10 × 12 inch black cardstock.
- If insignias are involved, they must be the current insignias of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
Prizes (for each category):
- Champion: Certificate and MOP 3,500 gift voucher.
- 1st Runner-up: Certificate and MOP 2,500 gift voucher.
- 2nd Runner-up: Certificate and MOP 1,500 gift voucher.
- Merit Award (3 winners): Certificate and MOP 800 gift voucher.
Submission Method:
- Download the entry form from http://www.fsm.gov.mo/contest_composition, fill it out, and send it with your entry via email to [email protected].
- Or, submit the completed form, physical work, and electronic files on a disk/CD in a sealed envelope marked "Participation in 'Police-Community Cooperation' Photography Competition" to the reception desks at either the Macao Security Forces and Services Higher School or the Macao Security Forces and Services Bureau.
Submission Period: From September 1 to November 16, 2015, during office hours.
Results Announcement & Awards Ceremony: The winners' list will be announced on the above website in January 2016. Winners will be notified individually. The awards ceremony date will be announced separately.

Chinese Essay Competition
Organizer: Macao Security Forces and Services Higher School
Purpose: To promote police culture, establish a positive police image, and foster a community-friendly police culture through collective brainstorming.
Categories:
- Open Category: Divided into two sub-categories:
- Tertiary Education Group: Students enrolled in Macao's tertiary or degree programs; or Macao residents studying in tertiary or degree programs outside Macao.
- Senior Secondary Group: Students in Senior 1 to Senior 3 (Grades 10-12) in Macao.
- Internal Category: Open to current or retired personnel working in departments under the Secretariat for Security of Macao.
Requirements:
- Theme: "Police-Community Cooperation."
- Write a Chinese essay expressing the importance of police-community cooperation, the positive image of the police, or sharing successful cases and experiences of police-public interaction.
- Genre is unrestricted; participants must create their own titles.
- Word Count:
- Tertiary and Internal Groups: Maximum 3,500 characters (including punctuation).
- Senior Secondary Group: Maximum 2,500 characters (including punctuation).
- Format: Printed on A4 paper using MingLiU or DFKai-SB font, size 12, 1.5 line spacing, full-width punctuation. Electronic files must be in Word format.
Prizes (for each category/sub-category):
- Champion: Certificate and MOP 3,500 gift voucher.
- 1st Runner-up: Certificate and MOP 2,500 gift voucher.
- 2nd Runner-up: Certificate and MOP 1,500 gift voucher.

- Entries must be original and not previously published in any form.
- Entries will not be returned.
- The judging panel's decision is final.
- Copyright of winning entries belongs to the organizer, which reserves the right to use them for any purpose (e.g., publication, exhibition) without additional compensation.
- The organizer has the final right to interpret the competition rules.
