This event has ended
Recollecting the past, the Panda Club first started to organize the event in 1981 under the partial sponsorship by various business organizations and social personnel's support. With a heart of enthusiasm and devotion, it linked up Macau, Taipa and Coloane for the first edition of Macau International Marathon, achieving a historical pioneering work for Macau.
The event was taken over by the newly established Macau Athletic Association in 1987, with the full support of the Macau Sport Development Board. In 1990, the event successfully joined the Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS), which verified and approved the Macau race course.
Macau International Marathon has grown sturdily over the years, attracting hundreds of local and international top long-distance runners. It has established a good image in the international sports world and won international prestige. The event continues to meet future challenges with passion and confidence.
