Introduction
Enhancing the quality of education relies on the collaboration of families, schools, and the community. Parents play a continuous and uniquely critical role in a child's development. Therefore, promoting parental education, encouraging parents to use their leisure time to participate in parenting education and volunteer services, and improving family quality are significant for building a harmonious society. Through the establishment of the "100% Parents Reward Programme," parents receive encouragement, support, and affirmation on their journey of raising children, growing together with them.
Objectives
- Encourage parents to improve their personal qualities and accompany their children as they grow.
- Recognize and commend parents who are enthusiastic and actively engaged in parent-child education.
- Promote the core family values of "Love and Care," "Responsibility and Respect," and "Communication and Harmony."
Target Participants
Parents or guardians of students attending non-tertiary education schools in Macao.
Programme Duration
September 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014
How to Participate
- Parents can collect the 100% Parents Reward Programme Activity Logbook from their child's school or any Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) Education and Youth Centre.
- Participate in activities included in the reward programme and fill in the relevant details in the logbook's loose-leaf pages, then have it stamped and confirmed by the collaborating unit.
- Submit the completed logbook to your child's school or the DSEJ Taipa Educational Activities Centre by late June 2014.
Selection Criteria
During the programme period, parents can choose to participate in activities organised by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau and/or collaborating units under the categories of Vibrant Parent, Active Parent, or Volunteer Parent. Upon accumulating 10 hours or more in each respective category, they will receive the corresponding certificate of commendation and book vouchers. However, each award title can only be awarded once per parent or guardian.
Parents who simultaneously earn all three award titles (Vibrant Parent, Active Parent, Volunteer Parent) and rank among the top 10 for total activity hours will be awarded the "100% Parent" certificate of commendation and an overseas parent-child trip as an encouragement.
- Total Activity Hours = (Vibrant Parent hours x 1) + (Active Parent hours x 2) + (Volunteer Parent hours x 1)
Calculation Method
- Vibrant Parent & Volunteer Parent: Calculated based on the participation time of each activity. If a single activity exceeds 2 hours, it is only counted as 2 hours.
- Active Parent: Calculated based on the actual learning time of each activity. However, hours from parenting education activities organised by the Taipa Educational Activities Centre or arranged by the Centre for schools/communities will be doubled (parents only need to record the actual hours; DSEJ will determine which items are eligible for double counting).
- 100% Parent: Parents who have earned all three award titles mentioned above and rank in the top 10 for total activity hours.
Award Presentation
Certificates and book vouchers for the Vibrant Parent, Active Parent, and Volunteer Parent awards will be sent to schools for presentation to parents or notification via phone for individual collection. The certificates for the 100% Parent award will be presented at a unified ceremony arranged by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau.
