This workshop introduces children to the fundamental techniques of creating mosaic art. Participants will learn basic skills including color matching, simple pattern composition, arrangement of colored tiles, the process of transforming 3D objects, and the method of applying grout. Young learners are encouraged to freely design simple patterns to create personalized mosaic decorations. This course is suitable for adults, parent-child pairs, or children.
Fan Xiaoling is a full-time handicraft instructor. She is the founder (owner) of 'Fan Tian Mei', a director of the Macau Handicraft and Creative Association, a director of the 37 Degrees Art and Culture Cooperative, and a director of the Macau Art Street Association. She has completed a certificate course in sewing and fabric art production at the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Center (CPTTM). In 2016, she established the 'Fan Tian Mei' brand, which primarily focuses on fabric crafts, specializing in embroidered gold bags and teaching needlework techniques. She has conducted workshops at various schools and institutions to promote handmade crafts. Her previous teaching experience includes serving as a leather craft instructor at Chan Sui Ki Perpetual Help College, a handicraft instructor at St. Paul's School, a handicraft instructor at Fong Chong School of Taipa, a leather craft instructor for the Education and Youth Development Bureau's (DSEDJ) 2020-2022 Art Education Snowball Plan, and a rattan craft instructor.
