This course primarily teaches the basic techniques of mosaic making. Participants will learn about color matching, simple pattern composition, the use of different materials, as well as cutting tiles and glass, and assembling the pieces. Students are free to design simple patterns to create personalized mosaic home decorations.
By the end of the course, participants will have completed several different art pieces, including photo frames and jewelry boxes.
Mosaic is a decorative art form, typically using many small stones or colored glass fragments to create patterns. The glass artworks in churches are also known as stained glass.
