Course Overview

The Macau Conservatory (under the Cultural Affairs Bureau) is now accepting applications for new students and transfer students for its Continuing Arts Education courses for the 2023-2024 academic year. The application period is from May 29 to June 10, 2023.

This program offers systematic, standardized, and continuous arts education for the public. Courses are designed to be diverse and are taught by professional instructors. Classes are scheduled during after-school hours, evenings, and weekends to accommodate working professionals and students of all ages who have a passion for performing arts.

Program Structure

• Academic Year: The program runs annually from September to June, divided into two semesters.
• Objective: To help students progressively master performing arts knowledge and skills, enhance cultural literacy, and build a solid foundation for those aspiring to pursue tertiary education in performing arts.
• Practical Experience: Students are provided with various performance opportunities to gain valuable stage experience.

Courses are offered through the Conservatory's Music School and Drama School.

Music School Programs

• Macau Conservatory Choir (New students for all age groups)
• Macau Youth Choir (New students for all age groups)
• Instrumental Courses (Transfer students for select instruments)

Drama School Programs

• New Student Intake:
  • One-Year Foundation Training (Arts Exam Direction)
  • One-Year Foundation Training (Performance Direction)
  • Directing and Stage Aesthetics Courses
• Transfer Student Intake:
  • Two-Year Professional Training (Arts Exam Direction)
  • Three-Year Foundation Training in Cantonese Opera
