Course Overview
To promote various types of handmade arts and encourage youth to engage in creative activities, the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) will organize the 'Handmade Creation' series of workshops in August 2013 at the Outer Harbour Youth Activity Centre. This series includes four distinct workshops designed to foster creativity and teach various crafting skills.
Workshop Details
1. Crochet Doll Workshop
- Dates: August 1 to August 22 (Every Thursday)
- Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Tuition Fee: Free
- Material Fee: MOP 150
- Content: Teaches basic crochet techniques, including single and double crochet stitches, and color-changing methods to create adorable animal dolls.
2. Cute Felt Workshop
- Dates: August 3 to August 24 (Every Saturday)
- Time: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
- Tuition Fee: Free
- Material Fee: MOP 80
- Content: Introduces basic felting techniques, allowing participants to use their creativity to make cute felt creations.
3. Decoupage Art Workshop
- Dates: August 4 to August 25 (Every Sunday)
- Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Tuition Fee: Free
- Material Fee: MOP 300
- Content: Teaches collage techniques and how to apply them to different material bases to create various decoupage artworks.
4. Macaron Keychain Workshop
- Dates: August 6 to August 27 (Every Tuesday)
- Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Tuition Fee: Free
- Material Fee: MOP 90
- Content: Teaches how to use fabric and various textile accessories to create adorable macaron-shaped keychains for holding small items.
General Information
- Target Audience: Macau residents aged 13 to 29.
- Class Size: 12 participants per workshop.
- Venue: Outer Harbour Youth Activity Centre.
- Enrollment Method: Registration first, followed by a lottery draw for oversubscribed workshops, then formal registration for selected applicants.
Registration & Lottery Process
- Registration Period: From now until July 7.
- Registration Methods: Online via the DSEDJ website 'Activity News' section, or in person at the Outer Harbour Youth Activity Centre or Lifelong Learning Service Station.
- Lottery Draw: July 8. Results will be posted at the Outer Harbour Youth Activity Centre, sent via SMS to successful applicants, and published on the centre's website.
- Formal Registration for Selected Applicants: July 8 – July 14 at the following locations:
- Outer Harbour Youth Activity Centre (2nd Block, Macao Forum, Avenida do Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues, NAPE, Macau)
- Lifelong Learning Service Station (12B Rua de Bela Vista, Macau)
- Waitlist: If selected applicants decline, waitlisted applicants will be notified by phone and can register from July 15 to July 17.
