Application Information
Objective
Organize internships for Macau tertiary students in various institutions and enterprises in Macau and Mainland China. The program aims to help students understand the practical working environment in different professional fields in Macau, apply their knowledge, develop their potential, accumulate social experience, expand their interpersonal networks, and prepare for their future careers.
Target Participants
Holders of Macau Resident Identity Cards who are enrolled in the third year or above of full-time higher diploma or bachelor's degree programs, or postgraduate programs, in Macau or overseas institutions for the 2014/2015 academic year.
Internship Dates
- Mainland Internship: June 18 – July 17, 2014
- Local Internship (Macau):
- First Phase: July 7 – August 1, 2014 (approx. 4 weeks)
- Second Phase: August 4 – 29, 2014 (approx. 4 weeks)

Law, Psychology, Chinese-English Translation, Design, Management (Medical Administration, Human Resources, Trade, Business Management, MICE Management, Hotel Management, Commercial Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Real Estate Management, Gaming Management), Economics, Public Relations, Marketing, Information Technology, Engineering (Electronic, Electromechanical, Civil, Architecture, Environmental, Information Engineering, Urban Planning), Journalism & Communication, Tourism & MICE, Accounting & Finance, Chemistry, Veterinary, Film & TV Production.
Internship Format
- Internships are unpaid and conducted at institutions or enterprises in Macau or Mainland China. Work guidance and training are arranged by the host unit. No employment relationship exists between the intern and the host unit.
- For local internships, both the student and the host unit must sign an internship agreement before commencement.
- Students selected for the Mainland Internship will participate in the "2014 Cross-Strait Four Regions University Student Summer Internship Program in Hunan" organized by the Hunan Youth Federation in Changsha, Hunan. The Federation is responsible for job matching, exchange visits, and covering local accommodation, meals, and transportation. Round-trip travel between Macau and Changsha is covered by the Macau SAR Government. Participants must attend all activities arranged by the Federation.
Quotas
- Mainland Internship: 20 students
- Local Internship (Macau): 60 students (approx. 30 per phase)
(Interns must be proficient in both Chinese and English as required by host institutions.)

- Application Period: From now until May 13, 2014.
- Apply online via the designated webpage and submit the following electronic documents:
- Copy of Macau Resident Identity Card
- Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents (Home Return Permit)
- Copy of Student Card
- Personal Resume (CV)
Selection Process
A Selection Committee composed of representatives from the organizing bodies, implementing bodies, and host enterprises will assess applicants through:
- Resume analysis and sector matching (shortlisted candidates proceed to interview).
- Interview.
Final placement is determined by the Committee based on assessment results and student preferences.

- Interview Dates: May 24 – 31, 2014 (online video interviews available for students abroad)
- Results Announcement:
- Mainland Internship: On or before June 6, 2014
- Local Internship: On or before June 13, 2014 (notified via SMS and email)
- Pre-internship Briefing/Training:
- Mainland Internship: Early-mid June 2014 (date TBC)
- Local Internship: June 30, 2014 (Phase 1); July 28, 2014 (Phase 2)
- Post-internship Summary:
- Mainland Internship: Late July 2014 (date TBC)
- Local Internship: August 4, 2014 (Phase 1); September 1, 2014 (Phase 2)
Remarks
- The organizer reserves the right to request academic transcripts for verification.
- All selected students must attend the pre-internship briefing/training. Absence will result in disqualification.
- Upon completion of the internship and evaluation, students will receive an internship certificate issued by the GAES or the Mainland internship organizer.
