A lecture addressing the cluster of unexplained pneumonia cases in Wuhan, Mainland China.
According to current information, some of the cases are operators from the Huanan Seafood Market in Wuhan. Some cases are severe, and all patients have been isolated for treatment. Contact tracing and medical observation of close contacts are ongoing.
The Macau SAR Government has received notification from the National Health Commission. Laboratory tests on patient samples have detected a novel coronavirus, and its full genome sequence has been obtained. The expert group preliminarily determined that the pathogen for these unexplained viral pneumonia cases is a novel coronavirus. Further expert assessment will be required, combining etiological research, epidemiological investigation, and clinical manifestations.
