Mengla Huang is one of the most active and promising young violinists on the international stage today. His brilliant technique and unique interpretations have captivated audiences across Europe, Asia, and North America. In 2002, he won the Gold Medal at the 49th Paganini International Violin Competition, also receiving the "Paganini Capricci" and "Mario Ruminelli Memorial" prizes, earning him the title "Paganini of the East."
Born in Shanghai in 1980, Huang began learning the violin at age 4 and was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music at age 8. He studied under the renowned violinist and educator Professor Lina Yu, earning his master's degree in 2005 and becoming one of the youngest teachers in the conservatory's history. He furthered his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the tutelage of maestro György Pauk.
Huang has performed with numerous world-class orchestras, including the Bamberg Symphony, Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, Luxembourg Philharmonic, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, German Symphony Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyoto Philharmonic Orchestra, Macao Orchestra, Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Sendai Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, and Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.
Qiuning Huang is a US-educated young pianist, chamber musician, and lecturer at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She holds dual bachelor's degrees (Piano Performance and Electronic Organ Performance) and dual master's degrees (Piano Performance, 2012; Collaborative Piano, 2014). Since 2014, she has been teaching at the Shanghai Conservatory, actively promoting chamber music education and performance.
