Event Overview
Macao Caritas-Life Hope invites future artists, designers, and creative individuals to create a mascot that represents life. This design aims to add color to the World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10) activities in 2013. We hope your mascot becomes the star of community promotion events, igniting the light of life with a lively, positive, and enterprising image, helping those who are lost or frustrated rediscover their value. Be creative and let’s make it work!

Competition Categories
- Open Category: Aged 18 or above.
- Youth Category: Under 18 years old. (For team entries, if any member is 18 or above, the team must enter the Open Category).
Eligibility
Macao residents interested in the event are welcome to participate (both individual and group entries are accepted).
Submission Period
From June 1, 2013, to July 15, 2013 (based on postmark or organizer's email receipt time).
Entry Requirements
- The work must align with the competition's theme: "Wonderful Life, Show Hope, Live the Ideal."
- Participants must name their work, but the organizer reserves the final right to amend the name.
- Each entry must include a description of up to 250 words explaining how it fits the theme.
- Each work requires a separate entry form. Participants must complete all content on the form and provide accurate information; otherwise, the organizer may disqualify the entry.
- Participants may submit an unlimited number of entries, but each must be an independent design and will be judged separately.
- Works must be original, unpublished, and owned by the participant.
- No personal information or marks may appear on any part of the work except the entry form.
Format & Submission
Artwork Format
- Must include both front and back views of the mascot, presented independently.
- Submissions can be in two formats:
- Hand-drawn: A4 size, colored artwork on a white background.
- Digital: JPEG file, max 10 MB, colored artwork on a white background.
How to Apply
- Download the entry form from the Life Hope website (www.life-hope.org.mo) or collect it from the Caritas Library.
- Seal the created artwork and the completed entry form in an envelope, clearly marked "Macao Caritas-Life Hope Wonderful Life Mascot Design Competition."
- Submit via one of the following methods:
- In-person: Drop into the designated collection box at Macao Caritas Headquarters, No. 1A Largo de Santo Agostinho, or Caritas Library (Basement), No. 64 Rua de Pedro Nolasco da Silva. Write the participant's name, contact number, and competition name on the back of the envelope.
- Mail: Mail to Macao Caritas, No. 1A Largo de Santo Agostinho. Mark the competition name on the back of the envelope.
- Email: Send to [email protected] with the competition name in the subject line.
A confirmation message will be sent upon the organizer's receipt of the entry.
Prizes
Each category (Youth & Open) has the following awards:
- Best Work (2 winners): Open Category: MOP 5,000 cash + certificate. Youth Category: MOP 3,000 cash + certificate.
- Honorable Mention (4 winners): Open Category: MOP 2,000 gift voucher + certificate. Youth Category: MOP 1,000 gift voucher + certificate.
- People's Choice Award: Voted by the public: MOP 1,000 gift voucher + certificate.
Note: Winners under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or above to collect awards.

- Theme Relevance: 40%
- Overall Design: 30%
- Creativity: 20%
- Feasibility for Production: 5%
- Extendability of the Work: 5%
Results Announcement
The winners' list will be announced on August 15 on the Life Hope website (www.life-hope.org.mo). Winners must attend the award ceremony on August 25 at the World Suicide Prevention Day (9.10) Carnival.
Important Notes
- Winners must submit digital files of their winning works for verification/publication.
- The organizer reserves all rights to use and modify all submitted works.
- All submissions will not be returned.
- Submitting an entry signifies acceptance of all competition rules.
- The organizer's decisions are final.
