About WMI
The World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) is an international mathematics competition that brings together organizations dedicated to promoting mathematics from countries and regions including China, Australia, Brazil, Turkey, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Macau, Iran, Bulgaria, India, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Russia. The annual finals are held in different countries, gathering mathematical elites from around the world. This platform allows students to step onto the international mathematics stage, exchange ideas with global peers, broaden their worldview, and strive for glory.
The WMI facilitates the exchange of mathematics teaching experiences among nations, improves the quality of mathematics education, and discovers and cultivates more outstanding mathematical talents. It aims to stimulate students' interest in learning, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and provide a sense of achievement through the competition process. All participants can use the WMI platform for self-assessment, broaden their horizons, and prepare for future challenges.

Competition Format & Awards
- The preliminary exam consists of two parts: Logical Thinking and Applied Operations.
- Exam papers are available in both Traditional Chinese and English.
- All final exam papers are graded collectively by professional mathematics teachers from various countries, ensuring a fair, just, and open competition.
- Students who advance from the preliminary round are eligible to join the Macau representative team to compete and exchange with mathematics talents worldwide.
Individual Awards (Macau Preliminary)
- Gold Award: Top 5%
- Silver Award: Next 15%
- Bronze Award: Next 25%
School Awards
- The school with the highest total score among kindergarten, primary, and secondary school teams will receive championship, runner-up, and third-place trophies.
- Schools that recommend the most students will receive the "Most Active in Promoting Mathematics Award."
- Mathematics tutors of Gold Award winners will receive an "Outstanding Tutor" certificate.
Learning Center Awards
- Mathematics tutors of Gold Award winners will receive an "Outstanding Tutor" certificate issued by the WMI Organizing Committee.
Eligibility (2023-2024 School Year)
- Kindergarten students (6 years old or below)
- Primary school students (Grades 1-6, grouped by grade)
- Secondary school students (Grades 1-6, grouped by grade)
Registration Methods

- Individual Registration: Parents should complete the registration form and send it along with the payment receipt via email ([email protected]), WhatsApp (+852 6698 2466), or WeChat (firsteducationhk).
- School Team Registration: Schools can recommend up to ten students per grade level to represent the school. Team awards will be calculated based on the top ten scores.
