The entire story is framed by a journalist who is making a documentary about the life of Jesus. It begins when a breaking news reporter receives word of Jesus's birth and starts to follow the story. After Jesus grows up and performs miracles, the reporter once again tracks down those who witnessed the miracles and those who were healed. The narrative covers the reporting of Jesus's trial, explores public opinion, interviews the disciples, and culminates with the reporter personally witnessing the resurrection.
