"Whimsical Music Rhapsody" is a unique concert designed for all Macao citizens and music lovers, presented in a "relaxed" and "humorous" format.
Following its successful and warmly received debut in 2013, "Whimsical Music Rhapsody II" is back this year. Organized by the Macao Foundation and fully produced by the Macao Piano Association, the concert will be grandly staged on August 29 at the Macao Cultural Centre's Auditorium.
This concert will use a light-hearted and comedic approach to introduce famous classical pieces and popular music. It aims to help the public appreciate the beauty within classical and pop music, encourage them to try appreciating classical music, and explore the similarities and differences between the two musical forms. The event emphasizes the importance of "balance" and "understanding" between them, ultimately promoting the goal of "integration" and helping citizens relieve stress through music.
The concert will be hosted and performed by two active local musicians: Chan Wai Man (classical music) and Cheng Man Ching (popular music). The performance will also feature several talented local young string players and a pop band. Through the boundless creativity of the two hosts, the event promises endless laughter and positive musical energy.
