This February, "What's Up" is all about jazz! We've invited jazz vocalist Heidi Li and jazz pianist Danilo Tarso to bring you a unique blend of folk-inspired Italian jazz.
Heidi Li is a Hong Kong-born Neo Soul/Pop/Jazz singer and composer. Growing up with parents who were Chinese opera performers, she was immersed in music from a young age. After living in Canada, the UK, and France, she has resided in Italy for over seven years and is completing a degree in Jazz Performance. In October 2016, she was invited by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to perform at the States General of the Italian Language in the World in Florence.
Her project, "Heidi Canta In Tutti I Dialetti" (Heidi Sings in all Dialects), began as a series of YouTube videos. Heidi traveled across Italy, collaborating with local musicians to sing folk songs in various regional languages and dialects, showcasing Italy's rich cultural and linguistic diversity. This project evolved into a live performance, debuting at the prestigious event organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended by the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
This February, she brings her musical journey to Macau, a city brimming with Southern European charm.
