Weekend Performances: Fun for All in May
On any given weekend in May, you're never far from free outdoor entertainment in Macau. A vibrant series of cultural performances showcasing Chinese and Portuguese traditions take place at various scenic spots and along the 'Step Out, Experience Macau's Communities' walking routes. Each performance lasts about twenty minutes, offering fun for everyone.
Cantonese Opera, recognized on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, combines colorful costumes and unique singing styles with Chinese legends, music, and drama. Lion dance and Chinese martial arts are highly skilled traditional Chinese performing arts. Portuguese folk dance features relaxed and flexible group choreography.
