Overview
The University Green Collar Program 2014, organized by Green Future and sponsored by the Higher Education Services Office, was first launched in 2014. This initiative aims to enhance environmental awareness and knowledge among Macao's tertiary students, promote experience exchange on environmental protection across local higher education institutions, and improve students' abilities to independently organize and host activities through practical engagement.
Program Highlights
- Objective: To select two outstanding Macao tertiary students to represent the region at the national "University Green Camp" during the summer vacation.
- National Camp: Selected students will have the opportunity to learn from mainland professional mentors and exchange ideas with environmental youth from across the country.
- Program Legacy: The national University Green Camp has been held annually across China since 1996, with the 2014 edition being its 19th iteration. It is a grassroots event primarily involving university students concerned with environmental protection, alongside journalists, writers, and scientists.
- Past Example: In 2013, the University Green Camp organized three teams, one of which traveled to Hainan Huali Home to conduct training for nature interpreters.
