Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and presented by the Macau Jazz Promotion Association, the "Twilight Concert – Autumn Mellow" will be held on Saturday, September 10, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The event will feature the Taiwanese fresh jazz band "Lemon Aroma Ensemble" performing unique jazz music and classic Chinese songs with a transparent, sweet-sounding interpretation, offering audiences a relaxing and enjoyable weekend evening.
Formed in 2010, the Lemon Aroma Ensemble consists of vocalist Lin Menghui, pianist Xu Congyi, bassist Zheng Kaifan, guitarist Peng Shuyu, and drummer Li Yifang. Driven by their passion for music creation, they draw inspiration from daily life and express themselves through jazz. Their music is characterized by an unworldly depth of performance, mature phrasing, and a blend of lightness and simplicity, enhanced by the emotional expression of each musician on their respective instruments. Since its formation, the band has actively participated in fringe festivals and music festivals worldwide, becoming regulars at cultural performance venues and gaining a strong following among music enthusiasts.
Lemon Aroma has developed its own musical style, combining the free improvisation of jazz with the simple beauty of popular music. This Saturday's twilight performance at the Taipa Houses is the perfect setting to experience their sweet, slightly sour, and mellow, pressure-free musical atmosphere.
The "Twilight Concert" series, running since 2003, has been beloved by residents and tourists for its combination of quality music and beautiful scenery. From June to October this year, a total of five concerts are held on the second Saturday of each month at the Taipa Houses Circular Amphitheatre. The series features musicians and bands from the United States, Portugal, Taiwan, and Macau, covering music genres including Portuguese and Macanese traditional music, original pop, jazz, folk songs, and ballads, aiming to provide music lovers with a unique musical experience during leisurely weekend evenings.
