Do you have food or goods nearing their expiry date and don't know how to handle them? Oxfam's "Treasure Share" material donation drive is here to help! To reduce waste, we invite shops to donate unsold but good-quality food or goods. Oxfam will then coordinate their distribution to people in need within the community, supporting disadvantaged families.
Shops typically stock extra inventory to ensure they have enough to sell to customers. However, achieving the perfect "golden ratio" of supply and demand is never easy! Surplus stock can sometimes accumulate. Therefore, Oxfam launched this project to "rescue" good-quality food (and goods) that cannot be sold before their best-before dates, preventing resource waste and providing help to those in need. In the long term, reducing waste also helps mitigate climate change!
💡 Since its launch last year, the "Treasure Share" project has received nearly 19,400 kilograms of food (or materials), providing support to over 8,930 household visits.
