Event Overview
A community art project inviting residents to become 'chefs' and create unique fabric dishes representing the Three Lamps district. Led by renowned Taiwanese community artist Chou Ling-Chih, this workshop uses patchwork art to explore the relationship between art and daily life. The Cultural Affairs Bureau initiated this project to encourage art to enter the community and provide more opportunities for public participation in artistic creation.
About the Artist
- Artist: Chou Ling-Chih (Taiwan)
- Background: Has participated in art projects and exhibitions in Australia, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.
- Experience: Actively engages in cross-disciplinary exchanges and has worked in rural communities, guiding children in digital media learning and community public affairs.
- Notable Project: In 2010, she was invited to Japan to conduct the "Patchwork Mural" workshop, collaborating with families and children to develop art projects and educational programs related to ecology, environment, and community.
Workshop Details
- Dates: November 16 & 17, 2013 (Saturday & Sunday)
- Format: Two separate class sessions (A & B). Participants choose one.
- Class A Time: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM (both days)
- Class B Time: 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM (both days)
- Venue: Macao Community Youth Volunteer Development Association (Located next to the Café de Coral restaurant on Avenida de Horta e Costa, in the Royal Palace Building)
- Capacity: 20 people per class
- Activity: Under the guidance of Chou Ling-Chih, participants will use fabric to sew and create distinctive "dishes" inspired by the Three Lamps area. The resulting patchwork creations will later be presented in a community exhibition.
