About Theatresports
Theatresports is a form of improvisational theatre created by world-renowned dramatist Keith Johnstone. It is conducted in a competition format where audiences enthusiastically support competing teams with cheers and applause, much like watching a sports match. This competitive theatre format is very popular in Australia, the Americas, Europe, Japan, and elsewhere, featuring regular performances and competitions, and is a highly sought-after activity for theatre-loving secondary school students.
Theatresports is not limited by environment, number of participants, age, gender, or format. It allows for 'improvisational creation' anytime, anywhere, using random props or costumes to engage in competitive matches or performances. It emphasizes creativity, inspires thinking, and fosters communication and listening skills between people, encouraging a positive attitude towards life.
