"All grown-ups were once children... but only a few of them remember."
One day, a beautiful rose blooms on the Little Prince's tiny planet. He cares for her with all his heart, but she remains dissatisfied, always complaining. The kind-hearted Little Prince can bear it no longer. He leaves his planet to the rose and departs aboard a flock of migratory birds. On his journey, he visits one planet after another, encountering a series of fascinating yet peculiar adults: the "King of One," "Mr. Vain," the "Geographer who records but never explores," the "Businessman who owns the stars," and the "Drunkard who drinks to forget..."
Adapted from the famous novella The Little Prince by French writer and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, this stage play The Little Prince: An Interstellar Journey is a profound interpretation of the original work by the Beijing Dashanpai Drama Art Center. Through the Little Prince's interstellar voyage, it invites children to observe the absurd lives of adults in a seemingly meaningless universe. Simultaneously, it follows the Little Prince as he repeatedly asks the most important question of all: how can one find meaning and live a fulfilling life?
This production is set to meet audiences in the summer, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the Little Prince's first arrival on Earth from Asteroid B-612.
