Synopsis
In a city with sky-high property prices, a group of grassroots citizens, unable to afford a home, hatch a desperate plan to kidnap a property developer. This leads to a farcical and bungled kidnapping. The exorbitant cost of renting a place to hide their 'captive' becomes the most challenging task in their zero-budget operation. Their plans are further thrown into chaos by the city's perpetual traffic jams, leaving them in a truly awkward predicament. How will this zero-budget kidnapping play out?
Adapted from the award-winning novella The Awkward Operation by renowned Macao playwright and drama school creative director Lei U Leong (winner of the first Macao Literary Festival novel competition), this socially relevant comedy uses absurdity and satire to portray the housing struggles of the 'shell-less' common people.
